Joe Torre leaves the Yankees
I cannot believe the Yankees got rid of Joe Torre. Why? Because management is the problem, not coaching. The Yankees had mediocre pitching this year. That is the fault of the managerial staff not the coaching staff. And this was a problem all too obvious from the previous season that could have been fixed before the season started. Yes - good decision to trade Randy Johnson to the Arizona Diamondbacks for prospects. I love Randy Johnson but the road back from back surgery is a tough one - I know. But I am so happy that they lost. It seems unfair that they get to spend so much more money than other teams - and yet it doesn't work - that is indeed the beauty of the game of baseball.

The Boston Red Sox are creaming the Colorado Rockies

Its no surprise that the Boston Red Sox look to be heading to another World Series. They were certainly the best team in the regular season, they have a formidable batting line up and of course strong starting pitching. But I wish the Rockies had won at least one game. Such a one-sided result is no fun for spectators - unless of course you are a Red Sox fan.

Joe Torre joins the Los Angeles Dodgers

Wow - this an amazing move. You cannot criticize the Dodgers for this move. Torre will hopefully have a thing to prove and maybe can persuade some Yankee free agents to move west. Lets hope they have money to spend and add a big back and a solid injury free starting pitcher to go with the upwardly mobile youngsters.

Nice Moves Los Angeles Angels

I really like the moves made by the Angels. In 2007, they had a great pitching lineup but were definitely lacking a little home run pop - only Vlad Guerrero with no protection. The addition of Torii Hunter not only adds a strong bat to the lineup but also improves the Angels' defence. And the addition of Jon Garland rounds out the pitching that was looking a touch thin after the big 3.Now if the youngsters can improve from 2007 to 2008, this team has some real potential.
