Universal Health Care

If it works like the United Kingdom, this will be a big problem. Lets look forward to long waiting lists for health care services. And hospital services that work like a government bureaucracy - slow, slow, slow: and not very good. And another layer of administrative spending.

In my mind, the big problem that has to be solved is that 20% of this country do not have medical insurance. As a result, the remaining 80% pay so that the 20% get a free ride. Yes - the 20% are most likely the least able to be able to afford health insurance. But it is still unfair and wrong that they choose not to pay. So how can we give them low cost health insurance and ensure that they buy it?

Taxes

There are too many taxes in America. Each tax that exists has a cost to manage and administer it- this is just plain inefficient.

I would be much better if all the small taxes that are no doubt the least efficient were eliminated. This would help make government smaller and more effective.

Foreign Policy

Although I agreed with the decision to get rid of Saddam Hussain (on the basis that he was a mass murderer along the lines of

Hitler), I believe it is now time to let the Iraqis take care of their own country. It is clear, just as with Vietnam, that we cannot

force a future of our choosing on Iraq. The Iraqi people need to take responsibility for determining their own future.
